I was the lead charge artist for the 2025 Halloween Tribute Store at Universal Studios Orlando. I designed the paint treatments for the store and then worked with and supervised other artists in implementing them.

I painted the central section of rock, which was actually a speaker, to match the surrounding rockwork. This was part of a larger repaint project of the volcano at Volcano Bay in Orlando, Florida.
I carved these fishing buoys out of pink insulation foam and then painted them to look
real and aged. The process, after they were carved, started with a solid base coat to seal
them. Some of them just had a Plaster of Paris base while the ones that needed to be more
durable were coated with a Smooth-On two part resin. I taped out the different patterns
and then painted them as directed by the designer using Off Broadway paints, and then did
several dry brush layers and washes to age them.

The throne in the center was originally blue like the throne on the left. I repainted it to have a light pine look as directed by the designer. I used Off Broadway paints and started with a bright base layer, followed by a wet-blend wood grain layer and a wash over the top. I then sealed it with a semi-gloss polyacrylic.
These shields are made of steel and intended to be used in stage combat. This was for “Richard
III” so the different factions in the show had different colors and crests to represent them. First I
spray painted these in their base colors, sealing that intensively with a clear matte spray. I then
printed out stencils for the heraldry and pounced them onto the shields. I then taped out the different
colored sections one at a time and spray painted them. I went in with a fine brush to add
in the details. Finally, they were sealed again several times with a matte spray to help them hold
up during combat. These did not get any aging as their use in the show would age them quickly
over time.

I did the aging on the stove and counter unit to bring them into the same world as the refrigerator using water based paints with the intention to be able to clean them up after the show for future use.
