Carpentry
College thesis project, built for "Pride and Prejudice," a non-playing pianoforte. It was completely built and painted by me, including the legs, which I lathed, and the keys, which I individually cut and shaped. The paint treatment for the body was based on birds eye maple, which was a six step paint process, and the legs and seat were a golden mahogany, which was a four step paint process.
The sideboard I built for "The Foreigner" and the bench I built for "A Midsummer Night's Dream," both for the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Some of the furniture built for the festival has insulation foam as part of their structure to keep them light weight and easy to move.
The painted table in this picture was store-bought, and the raw wood table was the duplicate I built.
Kitchen cabinet custom built for "Butterflies are Free" at Riverside Theatre.
The oven for "Sweeney Todd." The finished paint treatment on the right was done by the Utah Shakespeare Festival paint department.
